Running, walking, hiking, skiing, riding a bike — covering ground is one of my favorite things to do. The intent of this blog is to put words to some thoughts inspired by and connected to those pursuits. For my benefit, I hope to work through some ideas that might develop into more finished writing. For your benefit, I hope that you might discover some tiny kernel of endurance-sport wisdom, be amused, or just find a little solidarity in this compulsion to cover ground. The tagline “when you run for love, not because you oughta” comes to us courtesy of Jonathan Richman from his song “That Summer Feeling.” Hear it on Youtube.
About me: I’m Tom Weaver, a writer/editor living in Burlington, Vermont. Originally from Urbana, Illinois, I’ve been a runner since seventh grade, which takes us back to 1973.
